A recent study of Ontario seniors found that diabetics who were recently prescribed anti psychotic drugs had more hospital admissions. They had sudden shifts in their glucose levels that were dangerous. The greatest risk seems to appear right after an anti psychotic drug has been prescribed. 
There is also a focus on anti-schizophrenic medication in youth, contributing to diabetes. As there seems to be a link with long term usage and increased incidence of diabetes.
My take on this is that one should be weary of any drug that alters your brain chemistry. Our brains are very susceptible to abnormal blood sugar levels. Diabetics and those with insulin resistance have more incidence of dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Eating lower glycemic foods over the long haul keeps our blood sugar stable and brain happy. Best advice is prevention.
